Hey, there. Welcome to Success Sound Bites. I'm Sid Meadows and I'm the founder and principal of Embark CCT. We're a coaching, consulting, and training company. And we work with small to mid-sized business and individuals at helping them craft their journey toward success.
I'm really glad you're here with us today for this week's version of Success Sound Bites. And as you might have noticed we've been gone for the last several weeks, and that was by design. I set an intention at the beginning of the year to step away from social media, just for a few weeks, in order to be sure that we were effectively planning our year. We were setting our goals. We were getting our path directed so that we could make 2019 Embark's best year ever. I feel that we have done that. We had a great few weeks kind of getting everything together, my team and I. And so we're really excited. We've got some great things to share with you.
If you're interested in professional development you need to be sure you stay connected with us because we've got some really exciting things to share with you as the year progresses.
But today I wanted to talk about intention. I mentioned that I set an intention to step away from social media for a few weeks. And so when you think about intentions, are you using intentions in your life? Do you set an intention with a connection that you're trying to make? Are you setting an intention for a meeting that you're going into or for your career? For a relationship in your personal life? If not, you should really think about being intentional as you go about your daily life. I think you'll be surprised at how much it will actually impact you and impact the success that you're trying to have.
For me, I also have an intention of learning. And so I do things to make sure that I'm learning on a regular basis, honestly on a daily basis. I read every day. I'm a member of a couple of different mastermind groups. I'm watching videos on a regular basis. I'm listening to podcasts. I have an intention to grow. It's intentionally by design that I'm growing and developing as an individual both personally and professionally. It's really important to me.
Through this journey of my learning and growing, I came across something called The Rule of Five. Now The Rule of Five is basically setting an intention for things you want to be sure that you do every day. Five things, right? They call it The Rule of Five. And so think of them as verbs, right? Actionable items and actionable things that you can do every day to be sure that you're living your life intentionally.
I thought I would share mine with you. So my five are:
Connect, be sure I'm connecting with people. Both new people, people I haven't seen in a long time, be sure that I'm connecting versus networking. Impact, make sure I'm having an impact in people's life. Coach, hey, I'm a coach. That's what I do, right? Learn - I mentioned that earlier - make sure that I learn every day because that contributes to my growth. So I'm growing every day. Connect, impact, coach, learn, and grow.
What are your five? Be sure to comment down below. Let us hear from you. Let us know what your five things are that are part of your Rule of Five that are helping you live intentionally every day.
